With only a few special beers, Cafe Cotton Club isn’t a beer lover’s dream, but it does combine good food with good beer and have a relaxing atmosphere to boot.

A Belgian bar with a surprisingly good selection of unusual British bottled ales – beers that you’d be hard pushed to find in the “British” bars in Tokyo. A little cramped – “compact and bijou” springs to mine – but an excellent little bar, with the best chips I’ve found in Tokyo.

Just up from 109 in Dogenzaka, Hemel is a Belgian beer bar with a couple of beers on tap and a good selection of bottles. I used to go there a lot until I saw the chef did something to turn me off the place.
